Although promised "lots of travel" when I interviewed at targetbase, the HOW design conference in june 2001 was the first trip I took. Justin Rives and I were the proud representatives of targetbase interactive for the HOW conference san francisco and we made the most of the trip. I'd like to say that I really learned alot during our four day stay, but the conference was a bust. People were walking out of discussion panels left and right and the few classes worth a damn were full. I did learn one thing, though -- california is beautiful. Our trip ended on a sour note. The friday we returned targetbase had it's first round of layoffs resulting in 30+ unemployed people. We were glad to see our offices intact the following monday...
